Damage Description in 2003

The boat was damaged in Hurricane Juan in 2003

Repairs were poorly done by a local shop, a new mast and rigging in 2004.

Beinn Mara Boats in Kinlock, PEI purchased and completed many poorly executed structural repairs and continued annual repairs as they surfaced. The boat has stayed dry and light after having removed hundreds of pounds of body fill and replaced with structural foam. All deck hardware was removed, deck reinforced where required and re-bedded. Below the waterline saw major removal of material fore and aft hull to keel joint. The hull to keel has remained tight since repairs with no evidence of separation.

  • Cabin deck core top completely re-cored structural foam, all hardware remounted.

  • Port hull brought back in line and re-cored

  • Starboard stern quarter re-cored with foam

  • Bow reinforced

  • Forward half bulkhead added
