US sailor Charlotte Rose and Shake-A-Leg Miami among World Sailing Awards finalists

Winners of the 2026 World Sailing Awards will be named at a ceremony in Qingdao, China, on November 18.

World Sailing announced the finalists for its 2026 awards on October 26, and two of them are American.

Charlotte Rose is one of five nominees for Female Rolex World Sailor of the Year, alongside Spain's Paula Barceló and María Cantero, Italy's Maria Giubilei and France's Lauriane Nolot. The men's shortlist is Thomas Coville (France), Max Maeder (Singapore), Luuc van Opzeeland (Netherlands) and Matt Wearn (Australia).

Shake-A-Leg Miami, the Biscayne Bay program that opens sailing and water sports to people with disabilities and young people from across Miami, is a finalist for the 11th Hour Racing Impact Award. Luna Rossa is among the nominees for Team of the Year.

The public vote, which closed on November 2, counts for half of each result; World Sailing's judging panel decides the other half. Winners will be announced at a live ceremony in Qingdao, China, on Wednesday, November 18.

The full shortlist, including the Young World Sailor of the Year nominees, is in Sail-World's report.
